A just-released report “Sparking Economic Growth: How Fundamental Research Drives Economic Growth and Innovation” shines a spotlight on 10 Iowa companies. These startups trace their beginnings to federally-funded University of Iowa research, building on job creation and boosting the local economy.
The report, released by The Science Coalition (TSC) mentioned iota Motion, OmniLife, OscillaVent, Firefly Photonics, SynderBio, RAMDO Solutions, PaniClean, Spirovant Sciences, Theion Agriculture and Senseion. A number of these companies have participated in BioConnect Iowa’s SBIR/STTR Outreach Program, enabling them to receive additional state match of up to $25,000 for a successful Phase I award & $25,000 for a Phase II application.
